We started our session back at Drippys with Snax grilling Carl Weathers about the Diplomacy Fail song that Carl had recognized. As Absalom's resident music historian, Carl was able to pinpoint the the song being heard down at the docks as coming from ships that ported in from the city of Ostenso.
Snax invited Carl up on stage to accompany him in a round of the song, trying to gauge any weird crowd reactions to it being played. Both Snax and Carl did a horrible job. Sometimes you gotta knock the rust off before you go on stage, guys.
Carl also mentioned something about the Siege of the Fiendflesh and how that caused Beldrin's Bluff to become the Precipice Quarter.
Snax proclaimed he would talk to Lord Winston, the Primarch of Absalom about the royalties he isn't receiving for his song being played all over Absalom.
Otto had a contact that had arranged to meet at Drippys. We were ushered into a secret (musty. Very, musty) back room, where we met Quintus, a spy from Absalom with his ear to the ground and eyes in the skies, thanks to his network of "little birds".
Quintus told us about Naralla and her possible involvement in The Shadow Wars. "But Why?!" we exclaimed, to no avail. Naralla was last seen in The Coins district on Misery Row
Otto also learned from Quintus that Thomas, Margaret Aswold's husband, was dead. This put Otto in a bit of precarious spot with his employer. We decided to hoof it to The Coins district to follow the lead on Naralla. Stopping off at Ted Express on the way to give Margaret a bit of a heads up.
Heading for the coins; we came upon an Aasimar woman leading a group of children across a muck filled road. While the group was crossing the road, a child with a missing leg got his crutch stuck in the much, all while a carriage was barreling down on him with no intention of stopping.
Nitro and Snax sprang into action, both sprinting as fast as they could towards the child, as Otto attempted to slow the carriage via wheel / spoke manipulation and damage. Nitro, not suffering from years of smoking and drug inhalation, was able to reach the child with time to spare, pulling him out of the way of the carriage. Snax, eventually reached the scene, doing his best to not throw up from sprinting.
The carriage bared the crest of House Gixx. Snax threw a rock at the House Gixx carriage window as it sped away, not doing enough damage to break anything. Athletics, huh?
We learned that the Aasimar woman was named Hope and she runs The Puddles orphanage. The child with the missing leg was Marty "Mini Mart"
Hope, grateful for the assistance gave Nitro a piece of cloth. Maybe it's magical, maybe she's just poor. Who knows?
As the group departed, Snax gave Hope 5 gold coins to get the children a decent meal for the evening.
An asshole teenager was working at Ted Express as the group entered. He wore a green sweater, a fake mustache, and introduced himself as Ted Flanders. After some careful diplomacy The Sooty Lads learned that Ted hasn't been seen in years, and everyone working for Ted Express "for legal purposes" has to claim that their name is Ted.
Bernard had seen Naralla a few weeks ago, but nothing since.
Otto was able to send a letter to Margaret re: News about Thomas. He told her to meet at Central Puddles for further info about Thomas. We need to purchase and wear fancy hats.
Ted Express, along with being a delivery service, sells left handed knickknacks and small useful tools.
The Saucy Wench is not only a rowdy tavern in The Coins, it is also a left-handed combination ladle and a wrench.
Feldus Chuld runs the bar, the The SOLS paid for a suite, at a discounted rate once they mentioned that they were traveling with famed author, Scribe of the Scrape, Joseph Gordon Diehard.
Tonight we rest, for surely danger and coffee awaits us in the morning.
