We found ourselves floating underneath the city of Absalom in the capable hands of a series of Mr. Diggs. This is a system that Rhustyne wasn't all that familiar with, as most Dwarven colonies do not usually dig this far down.
As we floated along, Otto heard a humanoid screaming sound coming from an alcove up above where we were floating.
We gave the alcove an ol' drive by to see what was happening. Otto yelled out to the humanoids in a bevy of languages, and was greeted with a response in Elvish.
the person yelling back was named Vex. He told us about one of his group who fell down a hole and needed help. We told Vex we would come back to help after we finished what we were doing - this is most likely going to be a lie.
We continued on our way to...
The Mr. Diggs express stopped us in front of the Gates of Khaz Gundul Gorn.
Rhustyne, in a moment of excitement rushed towards the entrance. As she approached, skeletons popped up out of the water surrounding us, and marched towards her.
Otto engaged in conversation with the skeletons in dwarven. They thought that we were trespassing on their land.
Rhustyne made mention of her goal of laying souls to rest, and Otto was able to convince the skeletons of how nice that might be.
Rhustyne checked her books about the Khasgundelgorn main gates - see if Rhustyne were any traps etc. After a few minutes, she flings the doors open and we enter
We encounter a bunch of crystal bunches as we enter the doors. Rhustyne mentioned that the crystals could be valuable, but stealing from the area would be problematic.
The crystals light up in a pattern of various colors.
The beams were red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple.
An ethereal voice whispered from the crystal:
In Dwarvish:
"Atha naith arinil i dûr khâz-khen, thâth-khen khir-khil"
Translation:
“If you want to get through this sparkling room, make me the color of a cherry in bloom!”
The Soots physically blocked the beams of light that were not red.
The crystal illuminated in purple.
The voice then called in Dwarvish:
"Duthan thagril khagrim! Dhar dutha khagrim gath! Atha' du'ra' kail tha' thur'a' gath'a' il'a', dath'a', gath'a."
Translated:
“I feel like an eggplant! How divine! Now make me the color of joy, grief and envy.”
The Soots covered all light beams but yellow, then blue, then green.
The voice finally called in Dwarvish:
"Krag duin zhegar, githar glin drun githar"
Translated:
“Now I want to feel like a starless night.”
The Soots covered all beams of light.
It appears that we have found ourselves in a light puzzle, and we're not a very smart bunch of adventurers.
After much discussion and failures, we figured out the need to block out certain crystal colors.
After the color shifting, a bright white light engulfs us and we find ourselves in a long crystal filled corridor
