The Infernal Harmonizer is a compact, portable synthesizer with a body carved from blackwood, a rare, dark timber known for its ability to absorb and resonate with magical energies. The keys are made from polished bone, each etched with tiny, glowing infernal runes that Jex procured through his contacts in the darker markets of Egorian, Cheliax’s capital.

- Arcane Modulator: Allows Jex to channel his innate magical energy to distort and enhance sound waves, creating otherworldly tones and effects.
- Runic Echoes: Each key is embedded with a minor enchantment that can mimic sounds ranging from the haunting calls of the silver dragons of Avistan to the eerie whispers of the shadow plane.
- Soul Amplifier: A controversial feature powered by a small, trapped essence of a bound devil. While morally ambiguous, this aspect gives the synthesizer its powerful, haunting depth, especially effective in performances meant to evoke emotion and intrigue.
¶ History
Jex created the Infernal Harmonizer during his travels through the heart of Cheliax, where he was both fascinated and horrified by the widespread use of diabolism. Inspired by the complex relationship between the Chelaxians and their infernal allies, Jex sought to capture the essence of this duality in something that could be used for a more benign purpose: music.
The synthesizer was constructed over several months in a hidden workshop in the bowels of Egorian. Jex painstakingly gathered materials that were infused with both arcane and infernal properties, ensuring each component of the synthesizer could withstand and channel the potent energies he intended to harness.
Upon its completion, the Infernal Harmonizer quickly became Jex’s signature instrument, renowned across taverns and concert halls in both Cheliax and beyond.
